Counselling & me
I'm a genuine empathic listener and the environment in which I counsel is relaxing and peaceful.
My previous experience of working with families experiencing difficult times has given me an understanding of the human capacity to cope in time of crisis of difficulty.
Life events can often seem overwhelming affecting us, as individuals, in a wide variety of ways, such as through anxiety, frustration, regret, lack of motivation/direction and low self-esteem. Experiencing this can affect us negatively and affect the quality of life for ourselves and for our friends and family. It may seem like a variety of areas of our life are affected, such as our health, family, relationships, education, work, money, time etc.
Counselling is a unique experience and for me, is about;
Relax and talk in a balanced and neutral environment

Counselling is a unique experience and for me, is about;
- Having space for one self, designated me time
- Time to explore your thoughts, your feelings and actions at a pace that is yours.
- No-one telling you what to do or say
- Time where you can just be you and to think
- To have someone listen, really listen and understand you, for who you are, what you stand for and not to judge you.
- It’s your time and no-one can take that away from you.
- You just need to be you!!!
Relax and talk in a balanced and neutral environment

My History |
I began my training at Chester University, Warrington Campus in 2000 by completing the Certificate in Counselling. Life events took over and children and marriage came along. I did not return to my studies in counselling until 2012 when I began to study for the Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling graduating in 2015.
The intervening time most of my employment was within the caring profession such as volunteer parent locally in Widnes moving on to being a family support worker with a locally charity and working part time in nursing homes and with children with disabilities I am currently a manager within the public sector ensuring that families and professionals have access to relevant information to make their life that little easier. I have always felt passionate about mental health and felt that it should have the same kudos as physical health and be accepted and treated the same….without the stigma Part way through my degree I decided I wanted to promote the importance of positive mental health an enable people to have easier access to services. ….as they say the rest is history CEA Counselling was created. |
